Sue began teaching at The Children’s School in 2000! She has a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Curriculum from St. Michael’s College. She is a well-rounded teacher but concentrates on developing reading, art, and music skills. Sue values the cooperative pre-school model. “I have known many of the children I teach today since they were infants. I enjoy when my former students return and I can see how they have grown and changed. I see myself as a guide. This is the first school experience for many children and their first time away from the home environment. I enjoy helping students navigate new experiences.”

Haleigh grew up in Bedford, New Hampshire with her parents and two sisters. She moved to Burlington to attend Champlain College where she graduated in 2010 with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. For the past four years, Haleigh has been teaching in pre-school and toddler age classrooms in South Burlington. She is currently working on finishing her Praxis exams to receive her teaching license. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Haleigh believes in play-based learning and couldn't be more excited to join the The Children's School community. "I believe children learn best through play, and should be given the opportunity to develop their own interests and explore the world around them. No two children are the same and it's important to welcome and encourage them all as individuals."
